The Nostalgia Nationals is held at Shakespeare County Raceway every year in June, it's one of the UK's best nostalgia drag racing weekends, and we were proud to be a part of the Supercharged Outlaws class. There was a huge range of high quality race cars, hot rods and gassers.
This was our first time competeing in the Pink Lady Racing Altered at Shakespeare County Raceway, so we started from scratch with no track data. Unfortunatly Saturday was a rain out after a glorious Friday afternoon spent setting up pit. We got out on Sunday for our first run and it was a great one!! We knocked half a second off our PB (8.44/ 160.89) held at Santa Pod Raceway so we were very pleased with the progress made in just one race!
During the second run I was up against Ian Kerr, we were expecting a lot faster run after we upped the tuning again, but on the launch there was a gearbox failure, the output shaft broke so we couldn't move off the line. Fortunatly for us we have the spare part and we are able to fix it before our next round at Santa Pod Raceway for the European Finals.
Overall it was a great weekend, it was great fun to run with the Supercharged Outlaws, they are fantastic competitors. We left the track with a new PB (8.09/ 164.67) and plenty more to come! The Shakespeare County Raceway crew were fantastic as always and we are excited to go back for more at the Hot Rod Drags in September!!
