We were really excited to get the altered back out on track again after a very long wait! During the build up to the Festival of Power we have been up to a few things, we recently took the car to a couple of shows. Firstly the Ultimate Stance show at Telford International Centre for our long time sponsor Wheel Whores where we were amongst some of Europe’s finest modified cars. Shortly after we also attended the Ultimate Custom Show in our home town Manchester! During the build up to this show I was promoting the sport through BBC Radio, which was also used as a replay advert for the show throughout the weekend. As well as that we are also planning on attending the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power in June where I will be demonstrating burnouts.
So obviously after a long time spent polishing the car for these shows, we were more than excited to get it back out on the track! The Festival of Power was only our second time out on track since owning the car, and without having much track time we have a lot to learn, so we can then begin to work on getting that magic 6 second pass! During the weekend we had a few issues with starter motors, unfortunately meaning we couldn’t make it to the start line in time for eliminations on Sunday, however from the hard launch it is showing great potential for the full pass. We are planning on testing at Santa Pod before the Main Event, this is so I can get some more seat time and the team can start tuning the car to get competitive again!
We also have a new sponsor to announce! As a lot of you may have noticed, Liam Jones’ new Top Fuel Dragster has had a bit of a make over by the fantastic work of Peter Walters Race Design as well as the complete car wrap by our newest sponsor WrapKings. WrapKings have decided to come on board with JK Motorsport and join the Pink Lady Racing team, we are really excited to show you what is in store for the Main Event.
“We are pleased to announce we are now an official sponsor of Jayne Kay for the Pink Lady Racing 2000bhp Fuel Altered. We were given the opportunity to sponsor her with a new full digital wrap on all official JK Motorsport transportation. We have been working closely with Peter Walters Race Design on a new look for the team. The new custom wrap will represent the Pink Lady Racing image, while withstanding the daily transportations around the country to show case the real speed of Jayne Kay! So expect PINK to be in the wrap.....Watch this space!! We are based in West Midlands, Number One 3m Authorised Wrappers and will be using IJ3080 to supply and the fit the custom wrap.” - Ben Hamblin owner of WrapKings
Also a big thanks to our continuing sponsors; Wheel Whores, Peter Walters Race Design, Trophy Queen Handbags, Richard Walters Custom Paint, SimpsonLids and Custom Coach Trimming.
